Since the beginning human life, trees have furnished us with two of life's essentials, food and oxygen. As we evolved, they provided additional necessities such as shelter, medicine, and tools. Today, their value continues to increase and more benefits of trees are being discovered as their role expands to satisfy the needs created by our modern lifestyles. Trees like great saint, they live life for others.
I would like to share my Gujarati poem on single tree stand alone in concrete jungle and thinks about their contribution to human.
કરે વિચાર ઊભું પ્રકૃતિ તરુવર, એકલુ ક્રોક્રિટ જંગલમા આ તરુવર
દિધો છયડૉ , ફુલ ને ફળ, આપ્યા શુદ્ધ વાયુ ને જળ
ભરી શક્તિ ને આપ્યા બળ, કિધા ઘણા આ માનવના ઉપકર
દિધા આ માનવે ઘણા અપકાર, આપ્યુ છત્ર માનવ ને રહેવા
દુર કરી માંદગી આપી દવા, આપ્યો ખોરાક જીવીત રહેવા
મહત્વ આપતો આ માનવ સ્વર્થ્યતાને, ભૂલ્યો આજ આ માનવતને
અંતિમ ઈચ્છા છે અહિ આજ, બલીદાન આ માનવ કાજ
પછી ભલે સુખમા રમતો કાલ,હસતો હુ જાતો આ વિકાસ
માનવે લીધો જાતે વિનાશ.

Given shadow, Flower and Fruit
Giving pure air and water
Given the food to apply energy
Given the shelter to human
Many contribution to the human race
Gave medicine to avoid illness
Gave food to stay alive
But human have selfishness
Today forgot human the mankind
But here is mine final wish
I will sacrifice myself for mankind
Smiley I seeing of the development of man
Human took self-destruction.
Save saint like tree for our next generation, and make tree plantation as fashion.
Plant a tree on your memorable day like birthday, marriage etc. spread this awareness to family and society.
Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.
